this isn't relevant to chris outside of the vaguest connection with the MvC series, but i love the x-men ( specifically the comics ) and jean grey is my favorite character, and like chris who i'm constantly seeing people call boring because of him being a "generic hero" character while i'm stressing the fact that chris isn't perfect and has plenty of flaws, especially as he gets older and---

it's the same with jean, but the difference is i'm actually fighting fellow jean fans who choose to water her character down to i guess win moral battles with other comic fans? they love to bring up how compassionate and kind and self sacrificing she is, and SHE IS, but then they will go to great depths to forget how she's extremely self righteous, a bully with her powers, and how she THINKS she's morally superior regardless of the situation and that's what makes her FUN. like they hate letting jean be a full fledged character and it's exhausting.

tldr, my favorite characters usually ARE the "heroic" characters, and i like exploring the flaws that make them nuanced.
